The rising 16 Academy played the U-15 National Team for a midweek friendly at the PDA complex. Both teams traded chances in the second half but the US broke the tie with a penalty kick goal in the 60th minute. FC DELCO nearly equalized on a brilliant one-time attempt by Carlo DeMarco which sailed just wide of the far post. FC Delco U-18 Academy Wins 1-0; Schmid Nets Game Winner

JACKSON, NJ (March 6, 2010) - FC DELCO’s Under-18s captured three valuable divisional points with a 1-nil win Saturday over NJSA at the Justice Complex in Jackson, NJ. Off to a rocky start back in November, this away victory quickly places DELCO back in the playoff picture. From the off, DELCO dominated possession between the 18s. Although they produced several quality chances, it wasn’t until the 24th minute when DELCO’s Joe Schmid, after receiving a pass from Kyle McCord, pegged a ball 25 yards out besting the keeper to just inside his right post.

That proved all that was necessary to take all three points though late in the game fatigue seemedto open up a few opportunities for NJSA. Quality goal keeping from Keasle Broome and good back line communication sealed the three point putting DELCO back on track.

PHOENIX, AZ (December 6, 2009) - The second day at US Soccer's Winter Showcase pitted FC DELCO against 2009 National Champions Derby County Wolves. The game was very well attended by college staff with over 60 colleges in attendance for each game. It would prove to be a stern test as both the under-15/16s and under-17/18s look to put their season back on track. The day started early on a cold desert morning with the under-15/16s up first. An interesting subplot to this test was the DELCO starting

Four FC Delco Delaware Players Named All-State

NEWARK, DE (November 8, 2009) - Today Delaware Inter-scholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) announced their starting eleven All-State selections for boy's soccer and FC DELCO has come out on top once again. The top four positions are occupied by FC DELCO Academy players. In order they are, Andrew O'Malley, Keasel Broome, Chas Wilson and Kraig Ellis. For O'Malley this is his second year in a row where he was named DIAA's Player of the Year. For Broome, Wison and Ellis this year marks their move into the top of the starting eleven selections.

This year's state tournament will have a little more spice to it as O'Malley and Wilson are stand outs for perennial powerhouse Salesianum School and Broome and Ellis are stand outs for Caravel Academy. In Delaware, the Sals have only lost once...to Caravel with Ellis netting the winning goal and Broome being named player of the match. Both teams are on opposite sides of the bracket and have a very good chance of meeting again in the finals. The stage is set for quite a finale.
Good luck to all.

Chris Harmon, former FC Delco Academy and current star at Old Dominion University tallies a goal with five seconds left in a recent game to knot the score at 1-1.  Old Dominion went on to win the game in OT with a penalty kick in the 94th minute.  Congrats to Chris on a great finish !!
