FC DELCO Appoints New Girls ECNL Director

 

CONSHOHOCKEN, March 25, 2019 The region’s premier soccer club, FC DELCO (formerly Continental FC) named Zac Tassone Girls ECNL Director, leading the club’s continuous efforts to create an unprecedented environment where female players excel.

 

We are excited that Zac Tassone will be directing our girls ECNL programming,” says Rob Elliott, General Manager of FC DELCO. “Zac is a tireless worker and cares deeply about helping people, and will undoubtedly help grow our girls ECNL program to take it to new heights,” adds Elliott.

 

Tassone has more than a decade of experience in leadership roles, including coaching at the youth, collegiate and US Soccer Development Academy levels. Tassone is also the former Head of Health & Physical Education, and Middle School Athletic Director at New Foundations Charter School in Northeast, Philadelphia. Coach Tassone will oversee the girls ECNL coaches, players and player curriculum, as well as liase with FC DELCO club and ECNL league leadership.

 

“I am honored to lead FC DELCO’s elite girls program,” says Tassone. “The ECNL provides a proven pathway that prepares players for the next level whether it’s college, the national team, or professional play. Between the exposure to college coaches and elite competition, the ECNL maximizes female players’ ability, as well as their opportunity to play at the highest levels in the country,” adds Tassone.

 

Tassone is the current FC DELCO Sports Performance Director and U17 Development Academy Coach. Over the past year he has collaborated with leadership to bring about positive change to the club’s culture and environment, which has poised FC DELCO and its players for unlimited growth and success.

 

“Our effort will be relentless in pursuit of a national championship environment,” comments Tassone. “We are committed to evolving soccer and honoring the FC Delco legacy through our daily actions,” adds Tassone.

 

Coach Tassone has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from West Chester University where he was captain of the men’s soccer team, President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and a member of the Student Leadership Team. He holds a Physical Education Certificate, a USSF B License, a USSF C License, a USSF D License, and an NSCAA Advanced Regional License. Tassone is currently working on obtaining his USSF A Youth License—the highest license a coach can hold—which includes a five-month course that deep dives into every aspect of the youth game including leadership, coaching, managing the performance environment, and more.

 

Coach Tassone will begin his transition to Girls ECNL Director immediately and will finish out his role as the current Sports Performance Director and U17 Academy Coach through the 2019 spring season.
