U-18 Fury & U-17 Hammerheads Off To Nationals !!

The U-18 Fury girls and U-17 Hammerhead boys left on Monday to play in the USYSA National Championships in North Little Rock, Arkansas.  This is the first USYSA National Championship appearance for the Fury and the third consecutive trip for the Hammerheads.  The Opening Cermonies and Player Luncheon will be held on Tuesday with play commencing on Wednesday.  The schedules are:

Zack Steffen, Cannibals GK, Named to National Pool

Zack Steffen, GK of the U-14 FC Delco Cannibals, has advanced to the National Pool after he was identified during play at Region ODP camp this week. He’ll be attending National Camp in Massachussetts August 3-9, then will participate in other US Soccer events throughout the season.

Men's U-23 Team Reaches Region Final But Falls in PK's

 The FC DELCO U-23 Men’s team is played in the USASA Region 1 competition this weekend in Horsham.   The U-23’s, coached by Kyle Shilcock-Elliot, won their three preliminary games on Saturday and beat Eastern NY in the semifinals on Sunday morning.  The Region Final was a re-match of the State Final as the U-23 took on LoneStar of Philadelphia.   The U-23’s took a 1-0 lead in the 80th minute but conceded a tying goal in the 84th minute on a free kick.  The match ended in a 1-1 draw and went to a PK shootout which LoneStar won 5-4.  Congrats to the U-23’s for a great run this season !!

NaTasha Prentice Named to U-17 T & T National Team

NaTasha Prentice of the U-16 Sting girls was selected to the Trinidad and Tobago U17 Womens National Team which will be participating in the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Football(CONCACAF) U17 Womens World Cup Qualifying Tournament. Tasha is currently in residency at the Joao Havelenge Center of Excellence in Tunapuna Trinidad. The tournament is slated to begin on July 17th and finish on July 24th. The top three(3) teams advance/qualify for the U17 Womens

U-18 Fury Girls Take Region Championship !!

The U-18 Fury II girls took care of business in a big way on Tuesday morning by besting McLean Freedom of VA 5-0 in the Region Final.  This came on the heels of their 5-0 semifinal win over PDA on Monday.   With the win, the Fury have won their first Region title and will be making their inaugural appearance at Nationals in the end of July.  Congrats to the girls and coaching staff on a great Regional Championship !!

U-17 Hammerheads Take 3rd Straight Region Championship!!

The U-17 Hammerhead boys successfully defended last year’s Region Championship by beating FC Blazers 2-1 in the 2008 USYSA Region 1 Championships this morning.  Congrats to the boys and staff on a great run and best of luck later this month at the National Champiosnhips !!

93-94 Boys Take Rider Cup Title

The U-14 boys won the Rider Cup this past weekend as the team won all  5 games without conceding a goal  the entire Tournament.   They beat LSTS FC Madrid from NJ,  Everton America from CT and  Soccer Plus from MD.  The boys beat Phila Coppa in the Semifinals in PK’s and Hans Soliz Real from NJ in  the Final.   GK Ben Weaver made one save on PK’s and all five of the FC DELCO 93-94’s made their pk’s in the semi final to allow FC DELCO to advance into the final against Hans Soliz of New Jersey where they took a 3-0 victory.

CHESTER, PA (May. 12, 2008) — Keystone Sports and Entertainment, LLC, just became a whole lot stronger. And more experienced.

The ownership group for Major League Soccer Philadelphia 2010 announced the hiring of two more key executives on Monday -- Rob Smith as director of operations and Dave Debusschere as chief financial officer. Both executives will officially begin their assignments on June 2.

Smith is currently the president of FC Delco
