Teams Off To USYSA Region 1 Championships

The U-14 Cannibal Boys will be joined by both the U-19 Boys and Girls Teams at the USYS Region 1 Champiosnhips which are being held in West Virginia for the first time.  Actual bracket play starts on Friday and will continue through Sunday.  Semifinals and Finals will be held Monday and Tuesday.  You can follow the progress of the teams by clicking on this Schedule and Results link.  Best of luck in WV !!

U-23 Men Reach Region Final
Final To Be Played Sun. July 5 2 PM at Kirkwood Turf

Kyle Shilcock-Elliott’s U-23 Men have reached the U-23 Region Championship game by going 5-0 this past weekend at the Region 1 Tournament held in Manalapan, NJ.  Despite delays due to damp grounds, the U-23’s survived the long weekend and played attractive soccer.  Next up is the Region Final against the Balt. Bays on Sunday July 5 at 2 PM on the turf field at Kirkwood.

GREENSBORO, NC (June 26, 2009) - FC DELCO’s Development Academy achieved mixed results at the end of the first day of action at US Soccer’s Development Academy playoffs being held at Bryant Park in Greensboro, NC. This year US Soccer introduced a new format for the playoffs. The top 32 teams in each age group have been broken up into eight groups of four, with the top eight overall seeds being placed as the highest seed in each of the eight groups. U-17 Sting Capture Region B Title - Head to US Club Nationals

The FC Delco Sting U17 Girls won the US Club Soccer Region B Championships in Pittsgrove, NJ defeating Red Land Extreme in the final 6-1. With the win, the Sting will advance to play in the US Club National Championships being held in Virginia Beach, VA at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex. U-19 Boys Take State Title !!

The U-19 Boys State Cup Final was played Thursday night under misty, foggy skies at USTC.  Kirk Johnson’s squad came away with a 4-0 win against a determined UGH side.  Stellar defensive and midfield play along with goals by Matt Margiotta, Steven Miller and Kevin Strunk sealed the victory for FC Delco.  Congrats to the boys and best of luck in West Virginia at Regionals !!

U-19 Fury Girls Take State Title

Steve Frey’s U-19 Girls won another State Cup on Sunday by defeating Vincent United 3-0 in the Final.  The girls will next defend their Region Title in West Virginia next month to try to get back to Nationals once again.  The U-18 Storm girls fell 3-1 in the State Final against a very talented FC Bucks team.  Congrats to both team on their performances this weekend.  Kirk Johnson’s U-19 boys won their State semifinal 2-1 over PA Classics and will play UGH in their State Final some time this week.

U-16 Galaxy Boys Take Players Cup Title

The Galaxy defeated a very good Cincinnati team 1-0 in the final. The Galaxy controlled possession in the first half and had two great chances to score within the penalty area but the Cincinnati goalkeeper came up with two very good saves to keep the game even. In the 2nd half, Ryan Myers beat
